The second annual Maui Pineapple Festival and Homecoming in September attracted over 5,000 attendees with its Kahului cannery tours, memory lane historical exhibit, mouthwatering local food and non-stop entertainment for the entire family. The highlight of the festival was the first-ever Safeway Maui Gold Pineapple Cook-off – where Kristine Snyder of Kihei swept the first place title for both pupu/entrée and dessert categories – taking home a total of $1,000 in cash prizes.  See Kristine’s and all the winning recipes at mauipineapple.com.
